The Difference Between Hot Melt Adhesive Web and Hot Melt Adhesive Film

Hot melt adhesive web and hot melt adhesive film have certain difference in production process, air permeability, load-bearing capacity and application, although both are thermal adhesive material for the composition.

 

1.    Different production process.

Hot melt adhesive film generally adopts a single-layer structure, applied on the plastic film after melting. And then cool and cut by machine to make to be film shape. Hot melt adhesive web adopts a double-layer structure, which is applied on the non-woven fabric, lay a layer of film, and then dry at high-temperature, which is more solid and no easy to be broken.

 

2.    Different breathability

The breathability of hot melt adhesive web is better than hot melt adhesive film. Hot melt adhesive web is applicable to the packaging of vegetables and flower, which request for high breathability. Hot melt adhesive film is poor air permeability, is widely used for the sealed packaging of electronic products and medicines.

 

3.    Different loading-bearing capacity

Hot melt adhesive film is relatively thin and has relatively weak load-bearing capacity due to the single-layer structure; while hot melt adhesive mesh film adopts a double-layer structure, which is stronger and has a higher load-bearing capacity.
