UL94-The Flame Retardant Standard of Plastic Film

The flame retardant rating of plastic film material is the standard to measure the ability to resist combustion. UL94 is the most widely used standard for evaluating the flame retardant performance of plastic film material, and is also used to evaluate the ability of plastic film material to extinguish flames after being ignited.

UL is the abbreviation of Underwriter Laboratories Inc., the most authoritative in the United States and the largest private organization in the world engaged in safety testing and appraisal.

UL94 standard determines the corresponding flame retardant grade based on the plastic burning speed, burning time, anti-drip ability, and whether the dripping material burns, combined with the thickness and color of the film material. The flame retardant grade of plastic film materials are divided into HB,V-0,V-1,V-2,5VA,5VB etc. according to the UL94 standard. HB being the lowest grade and V-0 being the highest grade.
